A Little Hut - What Does It Evoke?

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
A Little Hut is the name of a greeting card website that I'm in the process of putting together. I was just wondering what the name evokes? What feelings it creates when you hear it? I know I'm doing this backwards ... should've thought of asking this a looooong time ago. I came up with this name because I wanted it to represent in some way what I do. Up to this point my cards are all hand crafted and unique - just like a little hut is. I know there's a big leap there but that's how it happened.

I'm also thinking that I may need a tagline but I'm not very good at that. Any suggestions? They would be GREATLY appreciated.

The name seems to be apt at least to me.When I hear a little hut it brings back to me memories of staying out in the woods with the fire burning, a couple of friends chatting. When we look outside we can see some deer sneaking around anxious to check what's this noise about. It also evokes DIY thingy as most little huts came to be with a little help from soemone's friends. If that was your intention it's spot on.

    Strange, I thought about Pizza!
Which I guess us a good thing, as most people like pizza and it evokes good feelings.

It sounds to me like you're sending a card from an out-of-the-way place. Very relaxed, but still taking the time to think of friends.

Like AndrewS, I immediately thought "A Little Pizza".

Just shows what a megabillion marketing budget - and kids - does to your whole psyche, doesn't it?

On reflection, I think "A Little Hut" works. There is a (bricks & mortar) gift shop in Melbourne called "The Tatra Hut" which features cards and gifts from Europe, especially Eastern Europe, and they've been in business over 20 years, so the Hut theme works for them.

    Good Luck.

I'll definitely let you know. I keep going over and over and over everything everyone wrote. It was nice to hear that my company name was on target as far as the feelings I wanted to convey. Now I just want to nail the tagline. Like I said before, I am very pleasantly surprised with how helpful this has been for me. :)
