Fewer content marketers are publishing long blog posts, but those that do are seeing stronger results, according to recent research from Orbit Media Studios.

The report, which has been published annually since 2014, was based on data from a survey conducted in August 2025 among 808 content marketers.

The researchers found the average blog post is 1,333 words in length in 2025, and only 9% of respondents say they are publishing posts longer than 2,000 words in length.

Some 39% of content marketers who publish longer posts (2,000+ words) say they see strong results from these pieces, compared with the 21% benchmark.

Only 39% of content marketers say they are posting blog posts at least weekly, and there has been a year-over-year increase in the proportion who post bi-weekly.

Content marketers who publish more frequently (multiple times per week) are more likely to report strong results from their blogging program compared with marketers who publish less frequently.
