Examples Of Failures Of New Product Launch

I am a student undertaking a study on new product launch.I am looking for information that either justifies or nullifies that "good publicity is needed to ensure success of a new product launch." real life examples of existing companies would be very useful.

    thank u so much for ur response. i would be grateful if you could come up with a few more examples specifically concentrating on the cases where publicity of the new product played a major role in its success or failure.

    an indian example would be HLL's adult diaper DEPEND launched in mid 's....was ahead of time perhaps and coudnt take off inspite of best efforts....is believed to be in planning stage to be relaunched once again now as hll feels times have changed.
    talking abt prod launch failures and relaunches if u r looking for examples look no further thn HLL one fmcg which relentlessly relaunches earlier prod failures and never gives up....abound with many examples

    more than 55% of new products introduced fail, what is the cause of this and could you please give some examples
