Looking For Creative Name For A Gluten Free Bakery

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi all, I've recently been diagnosed with Celiac disease and with the difficulty of finding already made and delicious desserts, my sister and I have decided to open up a Gluten Free Bakery! Does anyone have any creative catchy names that could be used?

Thanks for all your help!

The first step is NOT picking a name. You need to start with business and marketing strategies and plans. And most important among your marketing strategies is the Positioning for your bakery.

You need to figure out who your prime target audience will be and what their greatest unmet need is. You need to satisfy yourself that a "gluten free" positioning is going to have enough appeal to support the business. And if not, you need to have some other reason why people might want to buy your goodies.

You might want to check out the recording and how-to guide from the MarketingProfs seminar from May 18. It was the first one in the Small Business Marketing Seminar Series, and it had a lot of information that you'll want as you consider how to open your business. (The how-to guide is especially relevant.) You can click on "Seminars" at the top of this page, and look for the archives of recent seminars. You'll need to buy a Premium Plus membership, I think, but it will be well worth it if you're serious about starting this new business.

Also, the July seminar in the series is on Positioning, Naming and Taglines. You might want to plan on attending that too.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your comments. I am aware that a name is the last thing that pretty much needs to happen with this. Maybe I should have worded my question differently. I've been retired from my job for the last 4 months and all I have been working on is research for this bakery and creating a business plan. I'm in the process now of applying for grants instead of having to take out a small business loan. In waiting for my responses on those I applied for I thought I would start thinking of a name.

Thank you for the interest everyone seems to have in making sure I do things right and go in order of importance. I appreciate it.

    Wheat-Free Bakery

    Wheatless Wonders

(My friend is in the same situation and I know that wheat is his main enemy)

    Guiltless Gluten-Free Bakery

    Panderia sin Trigo
    Neighborhood gluten-free bakery

    Boulangerie sans Ble
    Neighborhood gluten-free bakery

    Panetteria senza Frumento
    Neighborhood gluten-free bakery

(the loose translations above mean Bakery without wheat)

    Hope this helps.
