I'm not sure how much "research data" this site has, but it has a lot of information about log homes, see: https://www.logcabindirectory.com/

Oh BTW Heinrich, if you do fins some good studies will you post them here? My husband and I have been looking at log home info which is how I had that site bookmarked.
