Tagline For Small Catholic Grade School

St Paul Catholic School (PK-8) is going through a branding exercise. We brainstormed our attributes and have found that people are attracted to our school because of the small town values (about 2000 people in the town) and the high percentage of Catholics in the town (over 50%) and our church and school's long tradition (founded in mid 1800s). Parents have indicated it is like leaving their children with a trusted friend – it is safe and secure within and around the school. We offer challenging academics for all skill levels and offer many extracurricular activities to meet many interests like music, chess, robotics, speech, sports, etc. Since suburbia is coming to our farmlands, we felt it was important to also stress that we have the land and a plan to grow our school if needed. We have about 200 students.

Our competition is the local public elementary and middle schools and a new non-denominational Christian grade school.

One of several candidate sets of messages is:

1. Partnering in Faith
2. Cherishing Family
3. Challenging Minds
4. Discovering Talents
5. Looking Forward

Our candidate tag lines are:

a. Rooted in Tradition – Educating for the Future
b. Growth Rooted in Tradition
c. A Tradition – Unlike Any Other
d. Faith. Family. Future.

We are not real happy with our tag line candidates as yet. While tradition is a big part of our community we are concerned that newly arriving families might think we are stuck in the 1800s and not keeping current. Wondering if anyone might have some better ideas for a tagline.

    Wow!! This is the first time I have used this forum. I did not expect such a response. We have a meeting of our small marketing team this afternoon and I will take all these inputs with me to show the other members.

    Thanks to everyone who responded. We mulled over all the answers and what we had already and came up with something from bits and pieces from several ideas. Three responders had ideas or parts of an idea that were in the finals of our selection process.
