I hope everyone will consider this a "locked thread" until the student comes back with a full and frank proposal of how they think they should answer this question themselves.

Then the experts can give their opinions and guidance without feeling they've been asked to do the student's homework for them.

I just noticed that my earlier link to the student "survey" wasn't working correctly. Blame it on Rumsfeld for poor equipment...
