Electronic Surveys - Subject Lines

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Couple of questions on this one. We are getting ready to send out customer satisfaction surveys and some will go electronically.

1. Should we put our company name in the subject line?

2. How do we avoid the email being tagged as spam?

3. Any tips on the message section? I am thinking of 1 or 2 paragraphs with explanation of the survey, but could use some help with wording....

Thanks!!!!

RESPONSES

    Hi MissyV -

I think it would be a good idea to put your company name in the subject line. I don't think it will affect your responses (provided you assure people that their results will be kept confidential), but it may help to increase your response rate. People will be less likely to think it's spam, and will probably be more likely to provide input into a company with which they have an ongoing relationship and investment.

As far as the message section, there are a few points to consider:

1 - keep it short and to the point - respect the time of your respondents. I would really try to keep it to one paragraph.

2 - be honest as to the length of the survey and time it should take for completion.

3 - consider personalizing the message, either in the Dear , line or somewhere in the text.

4 - include the benefit to the respondent in participating - their input will have a direct impact on company policies and products, or whatever it will be used for.

5 - mention the incentive (if there is one) but be sure it is relevant to the respondent and has value.

    Good luck!

    - Joy
