We've Got The Best Products, Now What Do We Do?

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Respected Members .

After 4 years of development, We've finally got it right!

Now I would respectfully ask your advice, and direction on marketing, and distribution of these new products.

I was on this board some time ago, and got some great advice and direction. We listened, and have evolved significatly due in part to the advice of the members here.

We have listened to the advice of the pros, and have added additional products to our one to one e-mail communications tools, , and have launched a premier world class, E-marketing, mass e-mail, and newsletter platform

Our websites have been redesigned, and now we need to tell the world about our products. What is our next step? Your advice would be sincerely appreciated

Question 1 Re Web Site Improvement!

How can we improve the websites? Are they effective? Did you understand the products? Did they have impact?
Did we miss anything? We will listen, as I respect the opinions of this board.!!

Question 2 Re Sales, and Distribution

How do we now set up affiliate programs, generate leads, and increase our traffic, sales, and distribution. Are there any tools to develope additional distribution channels.

Thank You in advance

    Vince,

I don't mean to sound rude. But in my opinion your post looks like self-promotion rather than asking for an advice. If you do want the advice I would suggest tuning the promotion part down. Again it is just mine opinion. In regards to your services:

-I didn't understand why they are the "best" and how they are different from many other online and desctop based CRM systems?

-If you do have 4000 clients, you should be concentrating on some refferal program, because it is the one of the best things you could do in B2B

I second what Sid said: You did it backward, but it's not too late. Put your great product aside (temporarily) and hire a skilled marketer to help you identify and understand your target audience, and to position the company/product for that audience.

Then take the positioning and develop a marketing plan around it. You want everything to be consistent with and supportive of the positioning. You may find that the product is exactly right, or you may find that you're 15 degrees off course. Either way, you'll be well served to let the marketing plan drive your next steps, rather than the other way around.

"Getting the product right" is almost impossible if you haven't taken the time to really understand your target audience, and to focus your efforts on the narrow segment with the greatest potential.

I think I remember when you were here before, and I believe we all told you then that marketing comes BEFORE product development, not after. Did you not understand us then? Or did you retrench and go back to marketing basics?

What's new since the last visit other than more product development?

I like the product very such, the site is easy to navigate and intuitive. Its a good concept and well presented.

I can see some SEO work needs to be done to help with natural search. I am currently offering free SEO reports (click on my name, then my website)

I also think you need a mailing list process, just creat a simple capture form above the fold. Then you have a ready made prospect database (just send monthly tips to keep everyone interested).

For affiliate programs, I would be tempted to do it the easy way and join a large affiliate networks (CJ, tradeboubler, affiliate window etc) to offer commissions on people who sign upto the mailing list, click through to your site or sign-up as members.

    Good Luck
