Management Education In India

What is the state of Management Education in India and what are the issues to be dealt with

    There are indeed hundreds of institutes in India offering diplomas, education for executives, MBAs and even distance learning. It is however a fact that a large number of of these institutes have poorly developed curriculum which is dated and use ancient methodologies. A majority are purely commercial enterprises.

    The above is due to lack of stringent norms laid by the government on educational institutions and lack of industry interface. Quality educators in management, is rare due to uncompetitive salaries and sketchy doctoral programmes. Also most institutes do not make work experience mandatory for admission.
