What Rate Is Safe To Send Out Email.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
What rate is safe to send out email to my registered subscribers to avoid spam filters, I intend to use a list management website, which doesn't use software at my end, as I hear spam filters don't like bulk mailing software. I am going to assume my subscribers haven't put my email address in their address books even though I intend to suggest that in my next mail out.

The frequency of emails sent depends on the subject of your emails. If you are sending a message that says "I am great therefore you should use me" you won't get may opens the second time you send.

Rather try to give information of value. Know your target and provide information that relates to your service but is truly beneficial to your prospects.

I get marketing emails from some sites a couple times a week and I welcome them because they provide ideas.

Try it and watch your open rates and tweak your new emails accordingly.

The send rate spam trigger varies from recipient's mail server to recipient's mail server. AOL may have their set to 15 incoming email messages per sending IP or mail server, while Yahoo may have theirs set to 100 incoming messages per hour.

So, its a bit of a crap shoot. Nobody posts these numbers as it makes it more difficult for spammers to figure out what works where.

I tend to use 100 messages per hour, and it seems to work for me. I also put all my AOL addresses in one list, and then test to see what send rate works. It does vary.

    Good luck.

You can safely send out 50 messages per hour without getting caught in spam filters- its the lowest common denominator.

Also put in Delivered & Read Receipts with the mail, so that you have an idea of the numbers. Since you have a mailable base of 2000 it shdnt be too difficult to manage and track.

I could be wrong about this, but I believe the trigger that is pulled with people like AOl is when a large number of bad email addresses are sent. If you keep your list clean you should not have any problem with this.

There are plenty of other consideration like subject wording, size of message and so on.

I routinely send 5000 to 8000 emails at the same time and timing is not something I worry about. If you are test it. Send one out normal and the next one you send time it out to be very slow. See which gets the most opens.
