As a potential MBA a good start is focusing on proper presentation.

Recommendation: Submit questions with the appropriate level of attention to spelling, grammar, and appreciation for whom you are addressing.

I would break it down to the region I wanted to concentrate on first and then even further by a particular industry.

If you wnated to focus on South America you might want to look at Agibusiness, like orange juice in Brazil or the flower industry in Chile. If Asia is your area of interest you might want to consider some industries that are applicable to that region, electronics comes to mind.

Every region has an industry that they specialize in. I would make sure you also had an interest before moving forward.

    I hope this helped.

See- internation business strategy is too generic. You would have to pick on an organisation- say GE and then pick up 3 of their businesses. Trace the difference in strategy accross the 3 businesses in say 3 different countries- one of the BRIC economies, one of the developed countries and one African economy.
That wd be quite an interesting dissertation.

If you want to do something along with the rocket scientists, have a look at how the latest mathematics impacts on modern business modelling, bidding, auctions and forecasting.

Professor John F Nash would make an excellent topic as his game theory was used to stage all the large governmental auctions of assets such as the 3G bandwidth in the UK. It is used for bidding in contested takeovers and critical trade negotiations for the G8.

Likewise, the maths of Lorenz and Mandelbrot are now regularly used in the modelling of chaotic systems and predict the impossibility of forecasting the long term consequences in non-linear dynamic systems which employ feedback – stock and commodity markets and all econometric forecasting.

The other major advantage of going for Higher Maths is that you can stick to symbols and won’t need to learn how to spell, do grammar or write.

    Good luck
