    What's the magic worrrrrrrrd..........?

    I say I agree.

The same questions are being asked over and over and over (every semester). Pus, as you said, it's like we are just a place for people to post vague requests, then have us do all the work in finding relevent information via links and searches.

Now some may say that we should always project high quality answers that "flex" our marketing muscles or don't answer at all, but the truth is, a lot of the questions are either vague, repetitious, or just plain lazy. To give long-winded replies to inadequate questions is specualtion at best and is only a way to see yourself "talk".

I will respond in great length if necessary, but lately, most of the questions can be answerd in a few sentances or links. Sure, it's a good time for new KHE members to show their stuff and write long, drawn out answers to prove they know what they are talking about which is fine, but something needs to be done to screen the questions before getting in.

Perhaps a module much like the automated help sections many web sites use. If a question possess certain key phrases, they are directed to a list of previous questions and site articles ( a potnetial for more premium and preferred members?).

    OK...I'm done for now.

Jim, I've been wondering if the majority of inappropriate questions occur here because of language or cultural differences. Regardless of whether they are students or new to marketing, people posting questions like the one here don't seem to "get" what KHE is for.

I don't have any answer to this dilemma, but I'm glad you are bringing up the issue here and among the Insiders. The quality of this forum is amazing! It would be a shame if the worthwhile contributions that feed it grow overshadowed by casual, unthinking litter.

    Still pondering...

Sandeep, I suggest you subscribe to Marketingprofs and use the site's Marketing FAQs page to find useful resources instead of posting a blanket request for articles here!

KHE Members... Surely the best response is probably none in this case.

Person could easily find answers by cruising MarketingProfs and Google.

Someone this lazy will struggle make it in Marketing anyway.

I suggest a silent protest for such Q's in future. Eventually they'll get the message. If not... who cares?

Don't worry about redesigning anything to oblige, force or even mildly encourage better questions. The wheat sorts itself from the chaff and MP (and we) should not waste our resources.

Sandeep: would it help if you simply go to www.google.com - do a NEWS search for something of interest (e.g. SPAM) and set up a news alert, so that they will forward you info?

Jim: Thanks for getting on the soapbox. How many times can we answer the question, "How should I prepare a marketing plan?". Can we find a better way to create and update answers to these common questions, and somehow moderate the new questions? Would it be better if new people started out without points - to discourage multiple personalities, and so that questions would be asked by "experts"?
