Creative Means To Capture Email Addressess

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Our company was recently granted approval to perform moves for a large umbrella organization. This organization has provided a list of their 'customers' that we will need to market to directly - there are about 900. The list does not include email addresses and am wondering if any members here can provide a creative way to market to these individuals announcing our approval and capturing their email addresses for future updates. We need to catch their eye and keep it.

Thanks in advance for your creative juices!

It is very hard to get opt in emails unless you have something totally unique and unbelievable. One approach you can take is to build something of value to the target and get their email to access it.

This could be an online tool, a discount coupon or anything else that has REAL value to the target. We once did a campaign for a restaurant chain and gave each person who registered (we collected a lot of date) a $25 gift certificate. The results were outstanding. We were able to double the list with viral registrations.

Getting people to give you their email address is not easy. You will need to offer them something that is beneficial to them. If these 900 people have things in common think about things that they would benefit from or enjoy having. A free gift is always good, a packet of information, a contest, free trial, exclusive sneak peak at something from the new company, or something else that will get them excited.

If you're talking B2B it's not hard to get e-mail addresses.

The term "customers" concerns me. Are they or aren't they? If they are, you may already have authorization to market to them based on whether they've opted into past campaigns.

If they're not, you have nothing more than a list of names...with one qualification: They MAY move sometime. That profile fits most people in the western world.

The hook for relo clients is ease. HR wants no part of it since it happens too rarely. Your company does scores of them each week.

    Hello,

Call them and ask them their preferred method of communication. Most will give you their email address.

You could attempt to ferret out your client's email addresses by going to the company's website, and seeing if they are on a contact page. Sending them an email in this way, you'll still need to get opt-in permission.

Do you have their phone numbers? If so, call them to get their current contact information. In your brief call, mention your special service, but focus not on the sale, but on obtaining the contact info.

I beleive b2b email addresses are the hardest to get. Keep in mind that you do not have to have permission to send emails, but you do have to offer a way to be taken off the list and include your address. So you could use sites such as www.jigsaw.com to try to get the email address.

It seems you are looking for b2b addresses so you can also do searches using the URL of the company to see how they format their email addresses. Is it harry.hallman@url.com or hhallman@url.com or somthing else? This will get you pretty good results.

All corporate e-mails can be determined using the internet.

    1) Determine the company website
    2) Visit the newsrelease section to determine the format
    (lastname.firstname@companyname.com for example)
    3) Plug in the name of the person you want to contact.

    VoilĂ !
