Name For Commercial Maintenance Business

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points
I've just started my own company, and am looking for an apt fictitious name.

I will be providing building/office-space maintenance services to small and medium sized businesses. I've been doing this on the side for several years, but have recently decided to go full time. I don't do any cleaning or janitorial work, rather, I focus on routine, preventive and predictive maintenance, repairs, furniture assembly, custom woodworking, trim carpentry, light plumbing and electrical, and misc. handyman type jobs.

The market that I work in is a small, but very affluent coastal town. My primary clients are/will be physician's offices, attorneys, dentists, indian chiefs (I can make a very good living on these folks alone), but will also include other small businesses.

Under no circumstances do I want to use the word handyman. I don't need the hassle of overcoming the negative stereotypes, and images of butt cracks, before I even get out of the gate. I'm also trying to avoid any cheesy sounding names; I want something that says "professional" and "competent".

I've been brainstorming for two weeks and here are a list of the names I've come up with.

Maintenance Wise
Maintenance Worx
Maintenance Matters
Xcel Maintenance or XL Maintenance
Executive Building Maintenance
Maintenance, Plus
Maintenance Savvy
Ideal Maintenance

Please tell me if any of the preceding names strike your fancy. Or, if you have any name ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thank you for taking the time to help me out, and I look forward to your pearls of wisdom.

Any of your names could work for you depending on your market. I would shy away possible misspellings (Worx, Xcel, XL) and "Maintenance, Plus"

If you're focusing on your location, then why not the obvious:
    [Yourtown] Building Maintenance
    Worry-free Building Maintenance
    Dependable Building Maintenance
    24/7 Building Maintenance

You should ask some of your existing customers how they would describe your services to their friends or other businesses. You should use these words in the name. It is less important that the name makes sense to you, it is more important that it makes sense to your customers and prospects.
