Training To Become A Google Guru

Posted by jarcher on 300 Points
I have been given the assignment of becoming the "Google Guru" of the company I work for. I am very excited to have this opportunity, but there are so many people out there claiming to offer training in various components of Google, I'm not sure where to go. I have a one-year timeline to take as much training as I need to learn as much as I can about Google.

I plan on participating in the seminars offered by MarketingProfs, and I am already going through the adwords online training through Google.

My questions are:
1. Is there a way to take additional trainings directly through Google? If so, where do I find these? I've been looking, but I can't seem to locate them.

2. Have you taken any google training courses, and if so, where did you take them and would you recommend them?

I don't want to waste time/money with trainings that are sub-par. We don't have a huge training budget, either. If you know of anything, I'd love the help!

Do you mean you are becoming the Search Engine Optimiser guru on staff, tweaking your web site so hit scores high in the Google Search Engine?

I would recommend taking a SEO training course from lynda.com for about 30 bucks.

    Free training course,tools and software:

    Free ebook report:

    Hope these help you.

My company is asking me to increase our visibility with SEO and also to understand how adwords, adsense, froogle, etc. work in order to be able to guide us into an even more profitable direction.

    Hi
I have been successful in getting my site on the first page of Google.com for many of my search terms and keywords. Rather than Pay for training I would recommend spending your time on the net - with a site that you can play with and learn by doing.

I have found some strategies which get me on page 2 of Google within 2 weeks and page one within one month. These techniques are not openly talked about but easy to find if you understand your site and can control what goes on the page.

As Google is reputed to be changing its algorithms on a regular basis - anything you learn on a course may well be out of date!
    Good luck

    Mike
