    - order getting

these are the folks who get out and 'shake the money tree'. They meet with clients, assess needs, make recommendations that sell products for you but more importantly - bring VALUE to the customer. These folks can makes SALES that work for your company (sell lots of products and services) but in a way that cost a customer some money but usually end up bringing a value that pays a return on investment for your customers or client. This is a big difference as such folks are self starters, highly motivated, work like the dickens, and customers love them because while they do cost customers money, they know that they also get more than they cost in return.

    - sales takers

These are folks that simply show up and take orders. The question usually asked is, what do you want to order...and that's as deep and probing as a sales taker will go for a customer. Also known as order writers.

    -machinery people

    This one cuts two ways.

One: If you sell equipment and supplies, then these are the folks who sell equipment or machines only, no service or ancillary supplies.

Two: also refers to folks who are robotic in sales style. They show up and ask the scripted questions (Whatcha want?, Whenyawannum?, Thisiswattlecostya!) and do little else. They do exactly what they are told, and produce exactly what they are told to produce.

    Hope this helps you.

Finders (are constantly on the look out for new business and can dig up stuff most people miss)

Minders (make absolutely certain that you get everything you're supposed to get from a customer)

Grinders (go beyond that to squeeze every last bit of buisness out of your customers. They are the ones that keep the competition out!)

Don't know about the other 3....at least I wouldn't call them SALES people.
