Permissions Regarding Images In Ad??????

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I NEED to use a photo of a Red Sox player for an ad going out via e-mail to life insurance agents. (My boss is a HUGE Sox fan!!). I can't find a photo ANYWHERE that I can download, even at a cost! I am knew to this type of marketing so I need the basic down-and-dirty ASAP!!

What is the deal with using photos? I assume I can only use stock photos that I purchase? Can I use them in e-mail and mail distributions?? What if I need a photo like the Red Sox?? Do I have to get their permission or is there a work around?? HELP!!!

tHANK YOU!

    Hi There,
As with using company's logos, images must also have been given permission for usage. I would contact The Red Sox orgainsation if there is one, or as near to one as you can get just in case they were to see the email and in the worst case scenario sue. At least if you get permission you will feel confident sending the email out.
Hope this helps. And good luck with the ad!

I'm in San Diego and a Padre Fan!!

I figured this would be tough. I already checked with Getty and they have FANTASTIC images!! However, they are only for editorial release and it will cost me too much to TRY to get permissions that may or may not happen in the end!

Thank you so much for your feedback...very helpful!

Yes. I think I have accepted that this is NOT going to happen. I'll go give my boss the bad news now!

    Thank you.
