Mentor, How, Where Do I Find One :(

Posted by Anonymous on 50 Points
Hi,

I'm lost and confused and may be this is not a good idea, but here it goes anyway.

As mentioned is some earlier post, I am a multimedia student enrolled for a couple of business subjects.

I find most of the concepts a bit difficult to grasp/understand.
Specially financial stuff (have been a dodo at maths and finance :()

It would be great if I could get some help and guidance with some of the concepts/methods.

I know I could post queries here, which I do. And some good folks are kind to guide me in the right direction.

Marketing profs has been of help in those terms.

But is there any way I could kind of find a mentor, so I can bounce ideas back and forth.

or maybe I just get these panic-attacks due to lack of self-confidence in the subject.

Why do you need a mentor? Why don't you just get someone else from your class who maybe understands the topics a bit better than you. If they are in the same classes as you, chances are that they understand exactly how you are feeling and that makes for easier communication flow.

My advice find an A student befriend them and you each other to bounce ideas around. You would be surprised what you can bring to the table as well... Good luck in your classes hope that helps...

Talk to your professors, teaching assistants, upper-class students, and even student activity groups (is there a college business club on campus?).

Well honestly... I haven't taken a single marketing classes. I am quite baffled by all the different techniques and aspects of marketing. I became of member of this site to help learn much more quickly the strategies and the tactics of marketing. I get emails when people post new questions on the forums and I not only read their questions but the responses to the questions more importantly. This strategy alone has helped me to learn a lot more about what works, what is a good idea, what isn't etc...and if I do have a question and I can't find an answer I just post it, and within the day I have got more answers than I know what to do with...

This site can really help you to learn if you utilize it...so maybe let marketingprofs be your "mentor"...
