Thesis In Marketing

I am a MBA student as a part of my curriculum i need to submit a thesis. Please guild me on the kind of topic that i should choose.

Would a topic on the lines of 'marketing to the youth' be a good topic to base my research on? if yes, then how should i go about it? and what all should i include in it?

Or else plz suggest me any other topic. My interest areas would be branding, advertising etc but any other suggestion is also welcome.

    I think marketing to youth would be a good area for your focus, but your thesis topic itself needs to be much more narrow. It would be great if you could take a specific idea and then do research to prove it. For example- look at social media (Facebook) and assess whether youth pay attention to it or not. Or look at appeals for junk food and compare the attitudes of a specific age group today vs, their attitudes, say, 20 years ago. Make it interesting by including some focus groups. That's about as far as we go with school project suggestions here, but it shouod be enough to get you thinking of an approach. Good luck!

    Nisha you have to keep one thing in mind: you are writing a MBA thesis and not a PhD. These two have two essential differences:
    1) MBA thesis has to target much narrower tighter topic, you dn't have 4 years of library time.
    2) MBA is targeted towards implementational benefit of work done. Or, simply something which you both as a student and as a business administrator would benefit from.
    Now back to your topic: 'Marketing to youth', is too broad even for a Phd thesis. Narrow it down, especially because marketing is a lot about segmentation and targeting. Some suggestions:

    Marketing (mobile services, or any other specific industry services) to the youth ( between the age of 19-25, or put any other variation here, such as young graduates etc.).

    Do you see the picture? I have only inserted variables in your original idea. Just explore different but tight niche area and you'll find one that needs a lot less work, has a lot of material available and can be a useful MBA thesis.

    To pile on to what's been said before, I think a thesis on Marketing to "Millenials" via social networking sites, etc would be interesting. Marketing to this group is very different. They don't accept being "talked to". Marketers need to be much more careful with this group or they can be labeled as irrelevant, fake, a poser, etc. The psychographics of this group combined with the amount of media they consume is really interesting
