Usc Or Uci Mba Program For Marketing?

Posted by Anonymous on 25 Points
I have been accepted by both schools, University of Southern California's Marshall and University of California, Irvine Paul Merage. My intention is to gain management and marketing knowledge as I have been recently promoted to Marketing Manager. Most of my experiences came from design. Irvine is closer and less expensive and the staff seems more personable. But USC has such a strong network and its name still bigger than UCI so it seems to be very hard to make the decision. I will be attending classes at the USC's remote campus in irvine so I won't need to commute until the 2nd and 3rd year. Any information on the comparison between both schools would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

    Congratulations!

    Tough Decision,

As a University Professor who interviews prospective faculty, I value a USC graduate much more highly than UCI.

The network is invaluable to you. Not only for your future employers but for your customers as well. I would not consider the drive into your decision. If it was easy, everyone would have one.

    Good luck,

    Keanon

Well, less expensive and a more personable staff are definitely considerations. I know someone who chose UC Davis over UC Berkeley in a certain program for just this reason.

She is very happy she chose Davis even though Berkeley has the better reputation.

Also, how much closer? Remember, you have a full time job to consider. Do not hurt your job and life too much in this process.
