Need Email List Broker Or Lists For A Survey

Posted by Anonymous on 750 Points
Looking for contact information of list brokers to provide email lists of business owners (or potential business owners). We need to source a list of folks to invite to participate in an online survey to gather more feedback to complete a project.

Appropriate Company or companies must be on the up and up and reputable and all usual anti-spam opt-in conditions for lists must apply.

Please reply with your recommend company and contact details. Thank you.

If you're in Europe I'd advice www.marketingfile.com. If you have specific sectors then most magazine publishers also sell lists of their subscribers (eg ZiffDavis).

You're never really safe purchasing email lists, even if the broker claims that they are opt-in, at least in the US.

A better way is to partner with organizations that have an in-house list that fits your target audience, and pay them to send your message out to their own list for you. That follows the principles of permission-based marketing and still achieves your objectives, without potentially getting you blacklisted for spam.

This could be a good way to develolp valuable marketing relationships with the partners you select. How about offering to share the research data with them and co-release your findings? Or how about offering to include a question or two of theirs? Is there some kind of incentive you can offer their members for completing the survey?

Don't overlook the PR potential of any survey. You can create a press release based on the survey's findings or offer a short whitepaper on the findings as an opt-in incentive on your site to build your own house list.

I have to disagree with Gail. There are plenty of truly opt-in email lists for rent. Permission is not the problem, and any reliable list broker can provide not only assurance but proof. That doesn't mean there aren't lots of bad lists out there; there sure are. But all the brokers I've ever worked with are as concerned about permission as you are. And I've worked with plenty.

Disclaimer--I used to work for Reed Business Information, owner of DM2 email list brokerage service. But because I was responsible for setting permission standards for some of the main email address sources, I can vouch for these lists. https://www.dm2decisionmaker.com/. I don't have any individual names--I worked in the interactive division on email marlketing and eNewsletters, not DM2.

However, I also recommend AllMedia (https://www.allmediainc.com/). Scott Caufield at AllMedia is one of the better list brokers around, and of course I'm saying that not only because I know him but I've used him quite a lot. I bought most of my email lists from him when I was at HBR.He'll give you great service regardless of whether you mention my name, but it won't hurt.

The real problem with rented email lists is the price, the ROI. The better lists will cost, deployed, average of $350-$400/M. Response rates for lead generation* can be very low, 1-3%. But of course you may do better, depending on how well crafted your email is, and how well you follow best practices. You can also do worse. Whatever you do, be sure to test display From lines, subject lines, time of day, day of week and of course offer and the creative. You can get lots of advice on all that from this forum, or from me.

*Lead gen is now called Demand Generation. Go figure.

    Hi Michael,
Hope all is well. This is Mark here with Optinbuilders, we are an online marketing firm and we provide marketing solutions like email list, email appending, email marketing etc. We have a in house data base of 70 million business and 300 million + consumer contacts with active and verified email addresses. Our list comes with complete information like Company, Contact name, Title, Company Address, Phone number, Fax number, Email address, SIC codes, Industry, Website address, Revenue, Employee size etc. Being worked for more than 4 yrs in this marketing field we have seen so many companies who claims that they would provide you with the list of customers who had shown interest in these services. But you have to be very careful in this as there are so many companies who just provide junk or old lists without verification and you might end up with spamming these contacts. Please provide me with your contacts information so that I can provide you with more information, you can also visit my website or to contact me offline view my profile to find my contact information.

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Hello,

I am a list broker with 17 years of experience and there are plenty of good opt-in email lists on the market.

I joined this site to learn and help the other members when possible.

Can you provide more details to the following questions and I will refer you to someone in your area?

    Where are you located?

Is this a national or regional effort? (geography dictates the source of the file. National opens the doors to subscriber files/direct response files and regional: compiled files which have a lower response rate)

How many answered surveys do you need?

    Is your company well known?

    What is your budget?

Do you have an opt-out suppression file?

The list owner will be doing the email broadcast, so anyone willing to provide the email names directly to you is SPAM.

    Thank you

    Tom
