Gauging Success Of A Client Satisfaction Survey

I have been tasked with creating a client satisfaction survey for a marketing services company. We have 5000 clients in our database. What should I be shooting for as a target response percentage? 10%-15%? What is considered successful?

    Depending on how you solicit response for the survey, a general rule of thumb is 5%-10%. Anything over 10% is pretty good, for a survey that offers no "incentive" to your client, and sometimes that is good for surveys that do.

    Agree with Zack, 10% plus is considered as a good response rate by most surveyors. However, if you do throw in a few freebies for the respondents, there are chances of getting much more than 10% response...but it may not always be unbiased.

    At the end of the day, it's your and the company's call.
