Need To Change Web Design Companies

Posted by lstevens on 500 Points
We've finally had it with our current web design company's inability to fix bugs. We are looking at a new company who says they can work with what we've got, but we are nervous that the discovery time will cost us a bundle. It's not an easy job because we have several inter-related databases and the back end is built on ASP.net. Can any one recommend a web design firm? Any recommendations on how to cut down discovery time?

Save time by asking for recommendations from organizations that have sites similar to yours, but are in different niches (so there's no conflict of interest).

One simple suggestion is to transition to a CMS-based site, so you can update content yourself and separate out the web design component.

Email me off-forum. I'd be happy to recommend some great firms.

If your site has inter-related databases then:

Fact - any company worth their salt will have discovery time and it will cost.

Fact - go into the new relationship with a long-term approach - not quick fixes on the cheap.

Fact - you will need changes in the future - you want a dependable company that will involve themselves in the idiosyncrasies of your entire system, look out for your best interests while being respectful of your budget.

You don't need to contact me off-line. I'll tell you that www.BarakHosting.com is that company. They have a very successful track record of recovering and enhancing complex sites from other companies that haven't been able to take care of their clients properly. They specialize in robust database sites. In addition, their full range of other services and performance proves they are a top-notch company.

Just tell them that AdsValue sent you (yes I am serious)

    Sincerely,

    Bob

I think if connecting databases is your problem then SAP system offers a very good platform for system and database integration. Plus, it has a relatively higher compatibility with the company's external web-site.
