Need Tagline/web Address For Realtor At Pride

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
I am a realtor participating in our downtown Pride.

In addition to a booth I will have my convertible in the parade. I have hired some young guys to toss branded flying discs to the crowd during the parade and afterwards too. The guys will be wearing square cut swimsuits. On the back of the swimsuit, across their butts, i want a short memorable web address that plays up on the guys, and homes via a double entendre.

So far the best i have come up with are [inactive link removed] but i am not sold on it! Suggestions Please!

Not for fear of being caste a prude, my heartfelt recommendation is that you "not" put a web address across the seat of the boy's bathing suits. Flaunting a web site (double entendre et al) using a sexually motivated media is likely to backfire on you, especially for a Town's "Pride" Parade.

Selling via sexual innuendo and chauvinism is tricky at best and sexist at worst and best left to the auto, fashion, and perfume Industries. It is likely to alienate as many people as you might attract no matter how clever the web address.

I have several Real Estate and Mortgage Companies at clients, and their most successful relationship campaigns similar to yours have utilized competitions or give-aways.

Why not tape a number to all the Frisbees and then have a drawing at your office or local park the same day and award a prize for the person who caught the "winning" frisbee. It's a good story for the local paper both "before and after" the event and will have people talking a lot more than the web address on the bathing suit.

By being in the parade, you're already showing a connection to the community. The fine line is being memorable...but for the right reason. If your values are represented by the swimsuited guys, then that's fine. If not, then you're lying to the community.

Perhaps have the guys dress as "YMCA-like" icons, but with realty connections: a builder (with hardhat), an architect (with long drafting T-square), a butler, etc. This way the image they present matches your business more than just with a web address.

I couldn't say that I "actively"market to the Gay community, but there is no question that they represent a key psychographic component that is included in everyone of my Retail Client's campaign demographics from car dealers to restaurants, and those who engage in Relationship Marketing strategies.

And now that you have qualified your intended customer profile and subsequent focus on a web address and tagline that would appeal to this segment (and others, I hope), I believe it is perfectly fine to use a tongue-in-cheek catch phrase that speaks directly, and indirectly, to this group.

My suggestion is that you consider using gentle, but sensual inuendo, that is focussed on your unique benefits as a Realtor, professional skills, and intelligence like:

"You Don't have to Kiss My Butt"
    "My Butt Your Home
"Serving you -- Coming and Going"
    "Helping You Sleep In It"
    "Your Home Here"

Or time permitting, you could dress your talent in Hawaiian shirts and speedos and let them toss out inexpensive Welcome Lai's with a tag line of:

    "I'm Your Lai"
    "Free Lai with Home Purchase"
    "Lai Your Butt Here"
