How To Approach Celebrities To Endorse Ur Product?

Hello Everyone,

I work for a jewelry designer who does really nice and unique pieces. As we are aiming to obtain distributors we realise the importance of having pictures of celebrities endorsing you brand as it gives your brand more weight... It automatically looks more trendy and people are willing to buy it....

Now my question is- how and what is the best way for approaching celebrities? We happen to know a few celebrities through our network- but we are not sure what the best way for approaching them would be?

Point being that they might and must probably already greatly sollicited by other brands/companies... how do you do to reach in as well?

Any suggestions?

    Thanks for the quick answer!!

    So..for a fact things are given for free... but then we can't really afford just given out to several celebs in hope that 1 out of the 5 wears what we give them...

    then again..
    to answer your question: we dont know them per se, but somebody we know, knows them quite well.. so yeah it is a big difference..then in that case how would you approach them?

    They not only will want for free, but to endorse-- they'll want paid.

    If you know a few in your network-- just call them. You'll probably be redirected to somene else-- and that is ok. Just explain you have something that fits their wonderful sense of style. Don't let fear stop you. Don't worry if you don't have the right words. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

    Any actor, sports, or entertainment figure that is known by the "public" at large and would be worth the investment in buying their endorsement has an Agent. And the bigger more noteworthy ones have a Publicist as well as a Financial manager who would package them for sale to the highest and most reputable product lines. However, not every celebrity will endorse products as it can also diminish their professional value in their chosen field.

    My suggestion is that you start with the top five Agencies in LA and New York for the USA, and Paris and London for the European market and ask for a list of their clients who will endorse products.

    You know there are books available with celebrities phones and addresses. They're amazingly available. I have run several black tie events for nonprofits, and just writing to them has produced a lot of memorabilia sent without charge.
