The company in question is called „batchbin“ and is a small start-up. They are selling a system for the dosage of powdery ingredients for industrial processes. E.g. advanced building materials; paint pigments or even ingredients for the production of bread. The system is offered in a modular design – Therefore the name “batchbin” as it works with standardized containers. By the way… Comments about the company name are always welcome as well. We are no English natives here and the name might sound strange.
The most important advantages of the system:
- It’s extremely flexible. It’s very difficult to change a normal dosing set-up after its construction. With batchbin it is as easy as adding a couple of Lego bricks to a Lego house. Many producers are facing that challenge as mixtures change very often and the amount of products is always increasing.
- With batchbin, one can adapt to the local conditions within a plant. It is even possible to put the batchbin dosing system in the neighboring building, which is physically impossible for a traditional set-up. It’s even possible to run several production lines from one batchbin set-up.
-Batchbin can be controlled entirely by industrial automation systems – But it can be planned as a manual set-up (with fork-lifts instead of conveyor technology) as well. This is for cases where labor is cheap or a company wants to test a new product on a small scale at little costs.
- Batchbin is able to provide the same precision/throughput as normal dosing systems.
- It’s a future-proof system for greenfield plants and is less demanding for building structures.
- It comes with a safety system against dust explosions.
- Sometimes dosing set-ups need extensive cleaning between different products. Batchbin minimizes this requirement.
- Potential customers get basic engineering in no time due to the modular way it’s built.
Pretty cool stuff actually. There is no competition whatsoever for a modular dosing system. Target audience is technical procurement staff from corporations of any size. A PDF with some graphics can be found here: [inactive link removed]
