If you mean Jill Granoff, the new CEO, I’d ask her if she was free for dinner this evening.

    Why?

She would be wonderful company and I'd have a chance to ask her as many questions as I needed.

    Hi Randall,
I do agree I have been reckless with this posting. I didn't respond because I was expecting better answers. One was a general question, second one is completely wrong William McCoomb is the CEO not the lady as one of them mentioned and third...I do not accept your answer as I did earlier.Since Mr. McCoomb is not from technical textile background and what so ever your question is will meaning nothing to him. As far as meeting him is concerned I am really meeting him, its not a school assignment.

Whoops, you are right – she was tipped for CEO and when I heard that she’d become one, I added 2 + 2 and made a mess. Memo: Must sack diary secretary.

You are missing one point though – we are not telepathic and cannot divine intent in a question – only interpret the words you write. If you dig beneath the veneer of what passes for wit, you sometimes find wisdom.

My answer illustrated the advantages of asking open ended questions – they lead to more information of a better quality. The bit I missed out, for fear of being branded sexist (The Yanks either adore or misunderstand the English Class System) was the advice of the late Alan Clark MP (Owner of Saltwood Castle, Kent and a Tory MP)

“Always take the Bentley; you never know when the lady might invite you back for coffee!”

Never mind though, you’ve got a superb master if Randall will take you on as a grasshopper!
