Top Of The Funnel Website.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi everyone,

I have recently launched a "top of the funnel" website for my business.

www.bestlifetraining.com

Our core business is live seminars focused on increasing health, wellness, and happiness naturally.

The seminar that this is inviting people to is appropriate for anyone in the general public. It is basically our "loss leader." At this seminar we provide great information, and also (of course) invite people to continue their education with us at other seminars that are higher price points and more in depth.

I would love any feedback on the effectivenss of this website in the following areas:

1. General Effectivness
2. Layout/Design/Navigation
3. Strength of call to action
4. Overall Professionalism/etc.
5. Copy strength
6. Anything else you think would be helpful.

I am VERY open to suggestions so please don't hold back. I'm about to spend a small fortune (for us anyway) on promoting this URL and I want to make sure it is effective.

Thanks everyone.

Kris

    1. General Effectiveness
It certainly intrigues me and makes me want to investigate further.
    2. Layout/Design/Navigation
    - the acronym B.E.S.T. should be explained somewhere on the homepage as it it used so many times.
    - the top image eats up alot of valuable real estate and doesn't do much for me. The images in the videos are just as compelling and have an action attached.
    - slim the line space down just a little between the dates.
    - Bold the book title in the yellow box & possibly add some assurance that their email will not be sold to a 'list service' (unless of course it will be). I wouldn't enter my email without that assurance somewhere.
    - Bold the other book titles, they are a big deal!
    - Should the BEST be B.E.S.T. right about the link "Find out more"
    3. Strength of call to action - Good
    4. Overall Professionalism/etc. - Good
    5. Copy strength - It's proven that if people are intrigued, they will scroll down, I would strongly suggest you append page two's small amount of info to page one. I wondered why I had to go to this page as did really didn't offer much more than text.
    6. Anything else you think would be helpful.
    - remove the animated arrow.

    Good Luck

The site is too cluttered visually. What one action do you want the reader to do? Get eBook? Watch one of the 3 videos? Call the 800#? Sign up for a session?

It's not until almost the end of the page do I figure out what BEST is about - much too long.

With Morter HealthSystem in the title, my thought is that this is a class associated with an insurance company or hospital.

There's a lot of hype on the page, and little "meat". How does BEST change people's outlook? Why is BEST better than other programs out there?

With this type of product, many people are going to start off being weary of it. So anything you can do to increase credibility off the bat is important.

I like the 2 videos on the homepage from the author of Chicken Soup and the guy from The Secret -- I would put those videos above the fold. They are more compelling than the video you have at the top.

The video at the top takes too long to get into the interesting stuff. Can you edit it so it's shorter and gets to the point immediately?

Explain what B.E.S.T. training is in simple terms in the header -- i.e., life coaching, career training, etc.

I know that your customers *could* be anyone in the general public, but I still think you can target the people most likely to buy. E.g., people who are spiritually minded, people who enjoy books like "Chicken Soup for the Soul", etc. Particularly on the web, it's less about getting visitors through a funnel, then getting the website in front of the right people to begin with.

The training dates/locations could be linked to the registration page for each event. I would bump the videos above the dates/locations and email sign-up.

The site overall needs more content. Who are the speakers? What makes them qualified? What can an attendee expect to get out of the training? What do past attendees have to say about the events? What are the benefits? I would highly recommend adding content before spending money on promoting the site. You could also do some free stuff to promote the site, like developing a Facebook page for the business.

    Everyone -

Thank you so much. I'm going to leave the question up for the weekend to see if I can get any additional feedback but what you have already given me is SUPER valuable.

As I read your comments, I keep thinking in my head..."That makes perfect sense....I should have known better than to do "that"....etc." When you are close to a project though it is hard to see these things so I truly appreciate each of you for taking the time to visit, think, and comment.

I'll do some reworking and let you know how it goes.

My B.E.S.T. to each of you! (LOL)

    take care,

    Kris
