Sponsoring A Golf Hole - Require Unique Ideas

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Our Company provides Road side assistance to vehicles, trailers, caravans and motorbikes nationwide. We are sponsoring a hole at a golf day in 1 weeks time. The players vary, and are not a specific target group therefore i can not craete a theme or dress them up.

The hole we are sponsoring is a par 4, i can not play closest to the pin, or the longest drive.

We will be serving alcaholic drinks to the players. Is there a fun game we can play re that?

Our hole is no 14, so close to the end.

Its also winter, so skimpy outfits wont work

Anyone with some interesting ideas?

Depends how serious the outing is.

    1) Blindfolded
    2) Opposite handed (you'll have to have some clubs available)

Go for closest to center of fairway

For all practical purposes, sponsoring a Golf Hole is a donation. So my advice is to simply have your name and what you do on the sign.

To try for tangible results, I would give out wallet/purse/glove box emergency coupons to hold onto until needed with each drink. Could also be a key-chain with your toll free emergency number. Or both.

If you really want to get fancy, one of those emergency tools for the car might be good with your toll free number. Flashlight might be good too.

I would also try to get something in the gift/prize bag golfers get at tournaments. You could make mention of it when selling drinks.

I've been involved in a lot of golf tournaments as a player and as an organizer. People may remember the game they play, but most will not remember who it was at the whole doing it.

Here are a few from the tournaments in which I have been involved. We've done such things as longest putt, shortest drive, straightest drive (paint a line on the fareway about 150 yards out and the one who is closest to the line wins), best second shot (closest to the pin), and closest to a target placed on the fareway (such as a sign with your logo affixed.)

    Good luck!
