Selling An Inbound Call Center Via Telephone

I've recently taken a job selling an inbound call center nationally by phone. I don't seem to have a problem selling to those who call in from our website, but I don't want to be an order taker, I want to be a great salesperson. We handle order entry and answering services. I know our people are very well trained and we have great customer retention. I just seem to be hitting a wall with cold calling. Does anyone have any ideas for how to script and where to direct calls? I really appreciate your answers.

    Never compare inbound and outbound. It just seems like a wall, but it's a numbers game.

    You need a great message and good prospect research, but the numbers will come.

    Hi, I'm Hal with XXX

    We provide XXX for companies in XXX industry.

    Am I reaching you at a convenient time?(if you reach the right contact)

    Give a very brief pitch and ask "who would I need to talk to about our service (if you get the receptionist)

    Other questions:
    How do I get on his calendar?
    May I speak with her assistant?

    The close is "We're doing tours of our facility next week. Do you have some free time or would next month be better."

    We write very effective scripts for companies and obviously this isn't customized enough but you can get a good idea from the structure.

    Don't overlook asking your existing clients for referrals.

    It seems like you should team up with a great telemarketing firm. They could cold call for you, and you could do inbound call support for them.
