Which College Degree For Eventual Vp Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am a junior in high school and THINK my dream job would be marketing fashion. I am considering applying for business management/marketing emphasis programs in "standard" largish colleges like UCLA, USC and UCSB that would also allow minors in non-business areas. Is there any reason I should apply to specialist art and design schools to gain specific fashion/design knowledge.

Thank you for your help

I think coupling a degree in Marketing with either a minor or dual degree in Fashion would be key. Ideally, a bachelor in fashion and a masters in Marketing Management would be impressive, but then there is the most important factor "real experience".

I completely agree with Juliet. In order to be truly successful marketing a business or trade, you need to understand these dynamics:
What is the product or service?
Who uses the product or service?
How do I reach those people?
There are plenty of resources available to help you learn about marketing channels, but to learn the fashion trade requires a lot more focus, and that should be your primary goal. Learn the business first, then learn how to sell it.
