Has anyone done the COM21 unit - Management Communications? This is my last ditch effort to try get some direction on it.
It's week 8 and the tutor hasn't posted a single message - in particular there has been no feedback whatsoever to answers to unit questions and no direction for the first assignment.
I'll be eternally grateful if someone's done this unit and can at least help with what format the assessment should be in?
The question is: Brand Strategy: You have been asked by a major record company to prepare a brand to market Australian bush music overseas. Design an appropriate brand that captures the Australian spirit for a global audience and write the pitch that you would present to the company board.
Now - it's titled 'Brand Strategy' but says to just prepare a brand and the 'writing' is the 'pitch' to them. Problem is the unit hasn't covered either what's in a brand strategy OR a pitch. It's just spoken about branding in general. There are no text books for this course either. So we're all just googling around the www to try find answers. Problem is a strategy (I've just done one for work) takes about 20 pages+ to do properly so I have no idea what they want us to include - and in what format? Some students believe it's a powerpoint presentation - however how can you do a 1,200 word powerpoint presentation? I thought just a standard essay like we've learnt here and incorporation an intro, then the branding elements, then a conclusion however it's not much of a pitch! and very boring - I wouldn't hire me based on that...
If anyone has an idea of what we should be doing - it would be a great help.
