Requesting Critique On Our E-newsletter

Posted by Anonymous on 125 Points

We publish two e-newsletters per month. We're looking for critiques on the below url with the following questions in mind:

1. Is there too much information/too many messages? Should we focus on one message/promotion each e-newsletter?
2. In the name of increasing profitability, how would you change this e-newsletter?

Thank you!

I think there is way too much going on. I don't know where to look first. Is the newsletter supposed to primarily provide information? Or sell? Or both?
Try having clear sections for different topics:

    **Tip of the Month**

    **This Week's Specials**

    etc.

I am jealous though.. having no garden of my own to plant.

I feel like the right hand column is taking me away from the body of the newsletter.

I would also agree that the body of the newsletter needs some organization. Headings or divisions to create a little better flow.

    I like the imagery though!

Since much of it is images I do not really think it is too much. It might be nice to have a little menu that uses anchors to navigate people to the section of interest. In This Issue: ...

As mentioned earlier you may want to increase your heading size and make this what the menu points to.

I would make the main table wider (780 px) and put the specials 2 across (perhaps shrink the pictures). You could make them smaller and have the thumbnails link to larger images on the website. In general, it is nice to drive people to the website so that they might see other things offered that are not in the newsletter. In fact all of the specials need to link to the main website.

I receive a newsletter (ad) from Costco and most items are small thumbnails that link to costco.com with further explanation of the item.

Overall it is a visually appealing newsletter.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

I'd rather see less pics and more links. I had to scroll a long way to the bottom.

If a pic doesn't show up in a newsletter, it's just a box with an X. Move pics to the bottom if you have too.
