Tagline For New Neighborhood Development

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I have a 21 new home subdivision that I will be marketing ASAP. The name is Cottage Brook. The homes will be targeted to people looking to downsize but stay in the town (currently, most of the homes here are large and the taxes are high). The homes will be small, energy efficient, cottage style bungalows. I'd like a tag line that somehow communicates that?!? The lots will be small so the houses will be somewhat close together, yet there will be common green space available (we donated 15 acres to the town for trails and open space). It's a new concept for our town in an effort to preserve open space and retain as much of the rural feel as possible while continuing to grow. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

I've done some work with builders here in CA and can tell you that if you try to do too much with your tagline you will confuse the message.

Rather than fire off some blind ideas, I'll try to guide your decisions a little. try thinking of the really critical issues your propsective homebuyers will be concerned with. Identify your strength in those 1-2 areas and focus on that. Typically a lifestyle tag works well... consider something that inherently states your points.

    best of luck!

I was actually the publisher of a "new Construction" magazine for 7 years, helping builders and developers market their companies and developments before I started my own marketing agency, so naturally I was drawn to this question! Here are a few of the ideas I have...

    Cottage Brook: "Living Greener"
Cottage Brook: "Giving life a new name"
Cottage Brook: "Simple living, in a big way"
    Cottage Brook: "Serenity.Tranquility.Reality"
Cottage Brook: "Your dream just became a reality"

It makes sense to me to incorporate the word or concept of "community" into your tagline. Maybe something along these lines...

A community of people who care.
Not just a house, a community.
    A green living community.
A community with a vision for a better tomorrow.

Only 21 homes? My touchpoint word for Cottage Brook would be "neighborhood."

    Welcome to the neighborhood.
    Redefining your neighborhood.
    Getting back to the neighborhood.
    Imagine your new neighborhood.
    The neighborhood you imagined.

Good luck! Sounds like a very cool place. ;]
