Need Name For New Fitness/gym Concept

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi. We're about to launch a new boutique fitness center with a couple of locations. The main focus will be group classes in three main areas: cardio/core work; spin classes; yoga/pilates classes. We will also have dedicated personal trainers in a separate area. Really having problems settling on a name for the facility. Our key point of differentiation will be the absence of membership fees and our focus on the class concept.

We want to make sure that we appeal to the quickly growing male segment of the urban fitness market without neglecting the all important female segment. We are planning on growing the business past the initial two locations and therefore proper branding is essential.

This is my first post and am desperate for some creative and innovative feedback. What do we call this thing???

Thanks in advance for any help.

My guess is that you'll be charging clients by the package for classes and personal training.

That being said, I don't know how you want and don't think you need to include that in a business name. There are dozens of names that I've suggested for others that include the words: fitness, personal, core, motion, lifestyle (of course, Lifestyle Fitness is already taken), energize, energy and more.

You might also want to consider something like Custom Fitness, Fitness with Class or Life in Motion.

Combine any of the words above and I think you have something that communicates your goals to your target audience.

Your key differentiation point isn't significant in your prospect's minds. I don't know where you are located, but in my area I could choose to take classes at: private health clubs, private gyms, or community centers. Each of these appeal to different demographics.

Before you figure on a name, first clearly identify WHO are you trying to attract and WHY they'd choose your offering. Once you have that down, then pick a name that fits.
