Freelance Services Site - International Marketing

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
Hi All, I am the administrator of a new web site (elance dot com, reverse auction type) offering freelance services to U.S. and International companies/employers. The current method of keywords marketing is not receiving sufficient postings from employers and signup by service providers. Email/spam-free marketging is being studied.

Your help and suggestions to make my website successful will be appreciated. I could also use the contact info of a couple of opted-in email lists providers who also do the email marketing. I do have an advertising and marketing budget and am open to retaining the services of one or more of the good advertising/marketing/pr and strategy experts.
Thanks.

Our association deals with thousands of small businesses. Perhaps we could swap email blasts or ads. Feel free to contact me about it if you want. John Schulte

You want to work on getting high quality incoming links to your site. This will help your search ranking.

I see you have a blog? If you are try submitting these to technocrati.com, dig.com delicious.com. You may want to add socail bookmarking to your blog so that others can bookmark your articles and share them with other. There is an easy way to do this, https://www.addthis.com/bookmark.php. This allows you to easily add links to your articles. The goal is to other bloggers to pick up your blog articles and link to you. Be sure to write artilce that would be of interest to your customers and potential cutsomers. You may want some blog articles that are not specifically related to elance as sometimes it can put people off.

Have you thought about adding a forum (online community) that allows freelancers and people using freelancers to interact. This is another way to drive traffic to your site. It also offers you a way to start creating an email list as you can make it so people need an account tp participate.

    Hope this helps,
    Mike

Start by adding analytics to your website. It'll allow you to see if you're getting traffic/no-postings or simply poor traffic.

In addition to listing the latest projects, also list the latest awarded contracts. You need to show potential clients that there's money to be made through your site.
