Marketing Research Proposal/project - Apple Inc.

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am a student and have recently been assigned a research project. It consists of producing a proposal for a piece of marketing research relating to this organisation, product or service. So it is not actually marketing research, but just a proposal to do so.

I have chosen Apple as I am fairly familiar with them and their products, but I do not know specifically what I could propose to do a research on. You will see what I mean from this following section:

Your research proposal should include the following:
• A clear statement of the marketing problem that you wish to research on behalf of the client.
• A definition of the organisation/product/service to be researched.
• Justification of why this information will be useful and how it will assist in marketing decision making.
• The question that your research will seek to answer
• The population to be sampled
• What you will measure (beliefs, expectations, attitudes, motivations, classifications of buyers etc.) and what data will you collect
• An indication of the Methodology to be used.
• An estimate of the time and cost to undertake the research.

I have read the article (https://www.marketingprofs.com/ea/qst_question.asp?qstID=16485) and was interested particularly at the Apple Newton also and wanted to incorporate that into the assignment (as I believed that they had marketing troubles).

Basically, where do I start?!

Its is a very clear question, and the instructor has laid out the work very well. Sit down and start writing your proposal, its the only way to learn.

You might google 'research proposals' to see if you might find examples of what a finished proposal looks like, but NO COPYING! Once you are out in the real world, nobody is going to be doing your homework for you, so you may as well start doing your own work now. Get on it!
