Posted by Anonymous on 80 Points

I don't know of any referring sites, but don't discount the power of SEO and SEM.

Seeing you're providing rental information, perhaps real estate sites might not be as good a fit, as those are people more interested in buying and not renting.

In terms of your site, it's generally better to NOT list sections of a site that's not ready yet. In your case that would be the various provinces. It draws more attention to what you don't have rather than what you do.

For example, in your Real Estate Today section, you have one article. You should consider hiding that section entirely and wait until you have critical mass before opening it up. Don't assume that people will come back to your site again and again, waiting for the latest article. They'll probably come once, see there's not much there and not come back.

Don't mean to be harsh, but there is lots of free Real Estate info out there, so unless what yours provides a truly unique perspective, there's no incentive for someone to read your articles over some place else.

Come to think of it, it seems the strength of your site is the rental search, why have a real estate section at all?

Same with your property search. Don't let people pick provinces with zero listings, that will frustrate them. Instead be clear about more provinces to come up front and then only provide choices that will return search results.

    Best of luck.
