Buying a list is usually a huge waste of money. These lists are usually compiled, so they are bery low quality. They are also very often outdated. Lastly, because the email addresses are being sold over and over, they are fatigued and non-responsive.

What list are you looking at? How many? Cost?

I don't know about that vendor specifically, but in general purchasing a list is not best-practice. (Especially if it includes email addresses!)

I would suggest building your list organically instead. I know that's probably not the answer you wanted, but it definitely your best option.

I know it seems like you don't possibly have time for that, but the truth is more that you don't have time not to! Good luck.

I am looking to purchase a state business list for about $50.00. Would an opt-in list improve my response rate? I am using this list for lead generation.

    Hello,

If you are paying $50 for an email list it is SPAM!!!
Anyone giving you email addresses to send out yourself is SPAM!!!

Please consider the fact that you may get blacklisted and have the feds knocking on your door. Also consider what your doing to your brand image.

This advice is coming from someone who has over 17 years of experience in the list business as a list broker.
You will get more leads by spending your $50 buying drinks for strangers at the bar.

If you are serious about doing legitimate direct marketing , give me a call. Email may or may not be the best option for you.
