Research On Team Building And Fun....

Posted by Anonymous on 100 Points
Are there any studies that indicate that teambuilding exercises that improve productivity and team bonding are better initialized through fun activities?

Trying to find a link between fun and teambuilding? Certainly someone has done a study on this.

There's an interesting site called The Team Building Directory from a UK-based firm called Fresh Tracks. It contains case studies as well as ideas. You may find it helpful. https://www.innovativeteambuilding.co.uk/pages/contents/casestudies.htm

Something that might help to support your hypothesis is a study that we use in our Practice out of the NTL which states that people retain more when they are actively involved. Activities in this category would include peer-to-peer and hands-on, which boosts retention to between 70 and 90%. Our theory is that if we can move details (such as, in your case, information about our colleagues) from our short-term to our long-term memories, we can apply that information in the future. We design sessions that are both fun and deliver real learning for just that reason.

Happy to discuss this in greater detail off-line [Telephone number deleted by staff]

I just received an e-mail notice from the American Marketing Association of an upcoming Webcast on "The Levity Effect: Boosting Employee Engagement and Productivity," Dec. 10th, 12-1 p.m. ET.

There might be some useful info in this session to help you. You can register by calling 1-800-262-9699 or send me an e-mail at [Email address deleted by staff] and I'll forward the complete details to you.
