What type of customers are you looking for? Perhaps the simplest are rented lists (which vary in quality and segmentation) - for example: https://www.buyerzone.com/marketing/mailing_lists/tmm-email-list-rental.htm...

Depends on what customers you're looking for

    hoovers.com
    chamber of commerce lists
    superpages.com

x-dating is still the best way

So you're looking to grow your database? Use your website by inviting people to sign up to join your mailing list or to sign up to receive an eZine or newsletter. If you don't have a website, then use Social Media Marketing and your profiles to grow your list. For instance, if you are on facebook or Linked In, invite people to join your mailing list there.

Use Article Marketing. Create some articles with a call to action in your source area (in the About The Author) to drive people to your website, your profiles on a Social Website, or to simply call or email you for more information. Then post your articles on article submission websites and within your profiles on social websites.

Find Joint Ventures online to help you grow your list. Swap ads to put on your website, mailings or newsletters in exchange for getting your message in front of other business professionals' contact lists.

Then I would go offline. Attend networking events and grow your referral or advocate list. Exhibit at a table at an event somewhere and give an offer in exchange for contact information to add to your mailing list.

Hope this is helpful. Good luck!
