Online Gaming Social Network

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
hello,

I have a website that is currently under development. I was wondering how I should go about advertising it. What are cheap and effective ways for me to start spreading the word about my website? I was thinking using facebook to start?

Let me know

Thanks!

    Also use Google syndicate advertising as you pay per click so atleast you are only paying for views that you get. Also see if there are any game stores (not franchise) that you can advertise on as these are usually less expensive.

    Your question is far too vague.

    Please provide more seriuos detail about the type of product that you want to offer, the audience that you want to reach and ideally a link to the site itself so that members here can offer some meaningful advise.

    There are many members here with a huge store of knowledge and expertise who are always happy to share and to help to fine tune your strategy but please be much more specific in asking your questions.

    EG:

    ================================

    I am building a MMPORPG and I want to attract massive audience to my web site.

    My audience is primarily young males (although women also play) from age 15 to 25.

    I am targetteing primarily the North American market (an other English Language Markets ) (Or Korea or Japan whatever you are aiming for)

    In terms of viral marketing; what would the members here recommend to reach the largest number of potential players in the shortest possible time?

    How does Google compare against Face book for instance with respect to ROI?

    ======================

    Hope this is helpful.

    May I suggest that you open a new question and make it more specific so that people ca offer more targeted answers.

    Good Luck,

    Matthew

    Dear Clark,

    Since your website is still in development, I would suggest you use this time to join some existing social networks in similar niches and start building relationships with the leaders there.

    Once your site is up and running, you can then invite these guys over to your site. They will bring along more users with them via word of mouth which should give you that initial boost all Social Networking Sites need.

    Hope this helps.
