    What problem does it solve? For what group? What is the value of the solved problem to that group?

    Once you've identified your target market and unique solution to their problem, then you show how your app addresses their needs. In other words, build a marketing strategy first rather than trying to be all things to all people.

    Thanks for the great feedback. I will do more research in terms of meeting the needs of the target market. On the social media idea e.g. Twitter, what's the most effective strategy/method with the greatest reach? The 2 apps: gaming and social networking categories.

    Dear Vickie,

    Social media marketing would be one of the ways to go to market an apple app. I would start off with defining my target market and then doing a bit of research on which segments of recently popular social media reach out to that segment.

    Attract some of the thought leaders in that segment and get them to try out your app and review it. Try different methods to create buzz about your app and just get it out there.

    This is just a general idea of how you could go about marketing your app. If you could give us additional info on the app itself, we could come up with some more specific ideas.
