Recommendations On Increasing Website Membership

Posted by Anonymous on 500 Points
Hi guys,

I am interested in increasing the membership of a friend's gaming community website.

https://www.carigamers.com/cms/forums

They currently have 3000+ members but hoping to increase that considerably, to around 10,000.

The community is based in the twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago. A caribbean island.

Any recommendations on the best marketing strategy or approach to achieve this?

Thanks,

Simy

But you need to make sure what is your community (twin island republic of Trinidad and Tobago) prefer. Like their interest before you launch any marketing campaign.

Beside that you can do some survey first.

Why not get your membership to help you? For example, a contest for the most referred new members.

Depending on your budget, you could run Google Ads or have ad placements on other related sites with some relevant incentive for membership.
You could also explore the use of social media to drive membership as a no-cost alternative. You could set up a gaming Facebook group to drive registration, or you could start a Twitter campaign. Or do some type of fun gaming video and post it on YouTube, pointing people to the site for registration.
You could also buy a list and do an email campaign with incentives for registration.
Just a few ideas to consider.

A member get member programme I believe would be a good start for your small island community.

Here is a link to a new promotion with Yves Richer in France. It is a great example of how such a game can work.

https://yr-lejeu.com/ (Just a demonstration of the concept of course it would be adapted to your needs).

users are requested to sign up for a raffle promo. For each 'Friend THat THey refer' they get an additional raffle ticket.

3,000 members prsumably are receiving regular emails frm you so you promote this directly via email. THye play the game and each member who joins will add an average 0f 3 names. (Just check tha they are not adding each other already who are members in the community - you need to reconcile against your DB during sign up first).

    Offer prizes of free games.

In addition to this, organise offline real world events for users to meet mingle and play. Be sure they 'invite a friend' to these invies in order to get freebies and extras that would not be available to them if they don't bring along a new sign up.

    Good luck :)

    Matthew
