Intranets And Content Management Systems

I am looking for two things: 1) a tool to create a simple to use intranet and 2) a content management system to manage our external website. I have used Ektron CMS in the past for management of an external website and I hear that they have a great Intranet tool as well. Are there any other tools out there (for either Intranet or general CMS) that you would recommend??

    Depending on the complexity of your site, I think for general Website CMS, check into Wordpress.org tons of tools and support, oh and it's free.

    Dear Megan,

    You can get a plethora of choices for CMSs from the urls given by my colleagues above. CMSMatrix suggested by Jay is a particularly good site to check out.

    However with all that choice, your desicion of which one to use becomes even more difficult. You need to make sure that you do make a choice based on the wrong reasons. The article I have linked below should help you make the right choice.
