You've got a great thesis topic, but I'm not thrilled with your approach of trying to field a questionnaire in this manner.

If it were me, I'd start with some hypotheses about what the textbooks say Marketing does, and what real people seem to be doing. To do that, I would suggest you grab 3 of the top marketing textbooks and "bucket out" the main marketing tasks they covers. Then sort of on the other side of the coin, I would google "role of marketing manager" and do the same task for the 3 best references you find.

Then i would take my best stab at pulling the 2 together and netting out one list. Run it past 3 mktg professors and 3 business people. Revise it one last time based on this feedback.

NOW you are ready to build your survey. You could make it very quantitative asking real-life marketers to rank the various tasks by priority, estimate how much time they put against the various tasks, etc etc

You might come up with some great findings such as "text books say getting customer insights is the #1 priority, yet my survey showed the avg marketer devotes only 3% of her time to that task."

What i've outlined is harder than just asking some mprofs experts for some questions, but then again a thesis is supposed to reflect some individual effort right? ;)
