I love the Know-how Exchange concept, and I'd like to add something like it to my website. But I've been looking all over for a fantastic way to host a very basic Q&A style forum, and can't find anything I like.

Tools like Salesforce Ideas, Uservoice & GetSatisfaction are great for gathering customer feedback and ideas, but what are people using to create a Yahoo Answers style forum? I'd like to find something with a smaller footprint than your run of the mill message board or forums applications.

Any great ideas out there?

Jive's website also strikes me as the most clearly designed, the easiest to navigate, and the best equipped with persuasion paths.

Dear Prodmktguy,

I've used Liferay Portal (https://www.liferay.com) to create some online communities. This solution is free (Standard Edition) and it includes software for forums, online messaging, blogs, email... It allows the user to integrate facebook or twitter accounts... Quite interesting depending on your needs.
