Product Life Cycle

Hi all,

I have an assignment about the Car company ford, and i have questions i need your help with :

1) if i want to apply the Product Life Cycle for the company as a whole , will it be in the Maturity which i think it should. or the decline and in that case all automakers are at the decline stage due to the economic crisis.

    I would say that Ford, GM and Chrysler are all in the clear decline stage.
    They have reached maturity many years ago.
    However, there are car companies that are in the beginning of the maturity cycle, like Hyundai, after growing and developing for the last 10-15 years.
    I would say that any brand that arrived at the sad stage of bankruptcy, is in the decline stage.
    No matter how you look at it, once you are bankrupt, people think in a different way about you.
    It doesn't matter how good your product is, this is the fundamental difference between brand and product.

    I agree with ilan: Ford, like Chrysler and GM, is in decline. They were mature 15-20 years ago, but no longer -- at least in the United States. It's possible there are still some places in the world where decline hasn't set in, but in the US I don't think there are many who would still consider any of the big three in "maturity" today.
