Affordable Web Designer Or Templates

Posted by Anonymous on 250 Points
I am searching for someone to design my website. I am looking for someone affordable who can do beautiful, quality work.

I am also open to design templates and changing things myself. I have checked out Theme Forest etc.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I set up my site using Go Daddy. You might check it out which is always a work in process.

Make sure you consider not only the design elements but the search engine friendliness and your landing pages. The website isn't something you should compromise to save a little money. It's a place to invest so that you can MAKE MONEY.

    Hi,

I simply love open source software. When I first started out, I built my own websites using nothing but open source software.

I only use Joomla (www.joomla.org). It has everything you need to get your website up-and-running within minutes and it has a world-wide community, so there is always support.

You can find some quality templates for Joomla on these websites:

    www.rockettheme.com
    www.joomlart.com
    www.templateplazza.com
    www.youjoomla.com
    www.shape5.com

They provide ready-made Joomla templates, which you can customize to reflect your business in a matter of minutes. Then simply head over to Joomla Extensions, where you can download nearly 5000 extensions...Go to https://extensions.joomla.org for more.

There are even places on the web where you can host your website free of charge, but remember to read up on these "free hosts" as some of them aren't that good.

But I would definitely give it a go myself and only after giving up building it myself, will I seek a designer...or maybe that's just me.

    Hope this helps.

Your website has multiple costs: creating it initially, hosting it, and updating it. The biggest expense by far is updating it. If you're just starting out, I recommend using a Content Management System (CMS) such as Wordpress (or any of the others at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_content_management_systems). If you have the design/programming skills, you could do-it-yourself. Alternatively, there are a large number of people who could custom design the theme for you or you could look through libraries of existing templates (and perhaps tweak them to your needs). The key is to make the design fit your marketing message and reflect the value of your offering to your prospective clients.

It all depends on your goals for the site and your budget. For simple sites to share content or share information - I like WordPress blogs. They are free and very easy to setup. There are also many free Word Press themes (design templates that you can use).

Most hosting companies like GoDaddy have CPanel and Fantastico - which allows you to install and setup many website apps and platforms with the press of a few buttons. and remember most of these apps are FREE.

If you are looking for good quality design templates - I typically to go: https://TemplateMonster.com, but there are many similar sites. Also there are many free templates for sites and WordPress blogs.
